Teen Program

It's hard enough to be a teenager. Think about what it's like to be a teenager with diabetes!

This program focuses on healthy lifestyle choices for teens ages 14-17 with diabetes. Topics include dating, driving, reproductive health, first jobs, parties, and the effects that alcohol, illicit drugs, and tobacco have on diabetes.

And of course, there will also be some fun! The program will also include outdoor camp activities at the ropes course, lake, and hiking trails.

Location: Camp Ho Mita Koda, 14040 Auburn Rd, Newbury, Ohio 44065 (Geauga County).

Date: Saturday, September 24 to Sunday, September 25

Arrival Time: 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 24

Departure Time: 12:00 PM on Sunday, September 25

Cost: $85

What to wear: Comfortable, casual clothes & closed-toe shoes (shorts, tennis shoes, t-shirts). Bring a swimsuit and towel!

What to bring: Sweatshirt or light jacket, water bottle & diabetes supplies (put in a bag with name and we will store in the dispensary). While our staff is available for assistance with diabetes issues, teens are primarily responsible for diabetes management during this program.

Meals & Snacks: Meals are provided by Camp. If you will require special accommodations, please notify the Camp Dietitian at (216) 591-0800 at least one week in advance.
